First, this in no way is a reflection of your impeccable instructions. They were perfect. I was just tired. Now you can read on...

It all started on Tuesday April 7th at 7:30 AM EST and here’s how it all went down:

- Tuesday 7:30 AM: Wake up at Mitch’s place on E 34th street NYC

- 9:00 AM: In a cab to JFK

- 9:45 AM: Arrive JFK with 3 bags and a guitar

- 1:00 PM: Finally leave JFK for Tokyo after a 1.5 hour delay

- Wed 2:30 AM EST: Arrive Tokyo 13.5 hours later (local time Wed 3:30 PM). I only slept for the first 2 hours.

- Wed 4:30 AM EST: Leave Tokyo for Hong Kong (local time Wed 5:30 PM).

- Wed 10:30 AM EST: Arrive Hong Kong 5 hours later (local time Wed 8:30 PM). Slept 3 hours.

- Wed 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM EST: Spend two hours finding my way out of the airport, through customs, and getting to some bus that takes me to some ferry - somewhere. I was told that the bus was easy and much cheaper than a cab. Easy my foot. (local time Wed 10:30PM - 12:30AM).

- Wed 12:30 PM EST: Finally get on this somewhere bus. I have to load half of my bags first and then get back off the bus to load the 2nd half of bags. People were lining up to cram on to this double decker thingy so I couldn’t do it all at once. I couldn’t believe how many people there were at 12:30 at night trying to get somewhere. It was now officially Thursday morning.

On this bus I met two nice sisters from Spain who had been living in Hong Kong for a little while. While they were recommending all these places I should visit, I missed my stop. Now understand, I was counting the stops, but I had been told, incorrectly incidentally, that it would be 4 stops by the tourist desk in the airport. Apparently, it was only 2. So I jumped off the bus, oversized luggage and all, and hopped into an expensive cab after all. Hong Kong was dead, dark and a little creepy at that hour, so a cab was smarter than waiting for the next bus.

- Wed 1:15 PM EST: I get to the ferry and the whole building was empty. I’m rolling my “I’m obviously a tourist” extra baggage (hey, I had to bring recording equipment and my guitar, OK! It’s not like I was Princess Vespa with her Royal Luggage in Spaceballs with a crate just for her blow dryer.) So I finally find this one guy basically asleep at a ticket booth and buy a ferry ticket. It’s 10 min until the ferry leaves. I get through the gate and they want to check my bags. I’m like, “cool, that would be nice.” They tell me I have to take the ferry 45 min later though. “Why!”, I yell. (I’m a bit cranky by now) Because we don’t have enough time to load your bags. “Can I just bring on them myself then!?” They looked at me like I was some four-headed dragon from Uranus. I obviously asked them a question they’d never heard before.

After going down two sets of stairs, three narrow hallways, and a rocking slippery plank with no railings with all my shit, I realized what they were talking about. Luckily the dockhands helped prevent my bags from falling into the Asian seas. I was finally on the hour long ferry to Macau. (local time 1:30 AM Thursday)

- Wed 2:30 PM EST: I finally arrive on the island of Macau. Get off the ferry - last. Go the wrong way to the cab queue. Have to climb back up the stairs I just came down. (local time 2:30 AM Thursday)

- Wed 3:00 PM EST: Get in a cab. It’s 10 minutes to the hotel where my friend is performing. I can’t go home yet because I don’t have a key.

- Wed 3:15 PM EST: I see my first familiar face in Asia. T just finished the set. Just as I’m ready to leave and go back to the apartment and GET SOME SLEEP... “Josh! It's great that you’re finally here! I want you to meet some very important people in Macau: the son of the largest real estate tycoon in Macau who owns all the major casinos here, the head of the Macau treasury, a major night club owner, and their friend who grew up here. They have been looking forward to meeting you and it is an insult to refuse their offer to join them for a toast (or 10) with the Macallan 25yr single malt scotch bottle they bought for the night to go with their Cohibas.”

And so began my trip to Macau. I didn’t get to sleep for another 4 hours. So I slept for my entire first three days instead.

Here is an email invitation for the launch party of Bring Out Your Happy on Nov. 15th in Miami directly from the founder and my friend Aleloop. We just found out that we will be on the local Miami version of Entertainment Weekly in the near future, too. We’re taping on Tuesday the 11th:

Remember what it was like when you were a kid. When you were the last one to find out about the latest new thing? You probably cried your little eyes out over that. And now, here it is more than ten years later. . . that feeling still cuts you like a sharp knife, doesn't it ?!?

Well guess what?

Except this time you can pick out your own clothes. And be the first one to show-up wearing your favorite new super-cool character from the world of Bring Out Your Happy.com. In fact, you can even attend the Miami Launch Party to see the first season. Then brag to the kids at the playground how you met the international award winning designer behind Bring Out Your Happy. The new fusion of fashion, music and pop culture everyone will be talking about. And meet some of the musicians who have sponsored their own favorite characters who will perform at the party.

Imagine how jealous all the kids will be when you show up on Monday morning and tell them what you did over the weekend.

Who: All the cool kids are invited (that means YOU)
When: Saturday November 15th from 7-10pm
Where: The Flower Bar at 9612 NE 2nd Ave in Miami Shores (Don't get lost call (305) 759-2217 for directions). Parking on the back.
What: Launch Party For Bring Out Your Happy.com, a new fusion of fashion, music & pop culture by Aleloop.
Why: Because music & fashion go together and you don't want to be the last one to find out about this.

Party features free drinks and food, musical performances by singer/songwriter Joshua Stedman, singer/songwriter Tamara Rhodes, spinning DJ Rob Solomon and DJ JD and a Donation Bar to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami and photography by Matias Schwarz Studios.
